my male friend actually defended me when the whole class lost their minds over a dodgeball match

okay so I'm genuinely dogshit at sports. like genuinely. especially anything with a ball involved. but my school does this thing where each grade competes in different sports like dodgeball or footvolleyball or whatever and if you win you get some prize money. so THIS YEAR we're doing footvolleyball right and somehow we make it to the FINALS. and I'm like okay I'm just not gonna be a liability here so I literally just stand in the corner trying to take up space and do nothing. but then the ball comes flying at MY SIDE and I panic and dodge it and we LOSE THE BALL and I'm dead inside but like okay whatever right??? NOPE. my entire class starts going OFF on me. I'm talking a full hour of them just. absolutely roasting me. I was genuinely upset ngl. BUT THEN this guy friend of mine walks over and he's like "yo chill out. leave her alone. did you really think she did that on purpose? you all know she can't play. why are you even mad?" and then he tells me "don't worry about it next time you'll do better" and honestly ㅠㅠ that hit different. like the WAY he didn't make it weird and just told them to shut up???
