a dementia patient said something that wrecked me on my last day of clinical

So I was doing my hospital clinical rotation and there was this grandma with dementia on the ward. Most days she'd just say stuff that didn't make sense, kind of all over the place. But on my very last day of the rotation, I went over to say goodbye to her.

And she looked at me and said, clearly, perfectly, "make sure you stay healthy, don't get sick, and become a greater person than anyone else."

I'm crying.

I will, grandma. I promise. please don't be in pain.
