got rejected by my best friend and i'm actually so happy about it

so i got rejected by my best friend (we call him 짝남, basically the guy version of me) and i'm genuinely??? so happy about it. ugh. our dads are super close so we've been best friends for like 11 years right. and i've been into him for 2 years. TWO YEARS. so i finally worked up the courage and called him at like 3am to meet up, confessed everything, and then asked him to DM me his answer because i literally couldn't handle hearing it in person lmaooo.

and just now i got his response and i'm actually tearing up. like the SPELLING. the SPACING. he made sure every single character was perfect in his rejection and i was like bestie you didn't have to be this considerate??? of course i fell for him harder reading that. but here's the thing. he's SO GOOD at rejecting people that i'm already moving on??? like it's the gentlest no i've ever gotten. normally you get rejected and it stings for weeks but this felt more like a really kind hug from someone who genuinely cares about you. i can't even be mad. i'm just... soft.
