I kissed my coworker and he short-circuited

So during lunch I'm talking to this guy friend I like (and like it's OBVIOUS I like him, he definitely knew) and we get on the topic of how people say guys and girls can't be friends. And I'm like "why do people even say that" and this dude just stares at me and goes "because there's no such thing" in the most defeated way possible. LMAO.

So I was testing him basically, like okay I'll deny it and see what happens. I was like "nah we're just friends lol" and he got all quiet and weird for a second, then literally bopped my cheek and was like "alright I'm leaving" and dipped. But here's the thing... I already knew he liked me. And I liked him too. So I was actually planning to confess that same night. Called him over to my place.

But when he showed up I literally COULD NOT get the words out. Like "let's date" just wouldn't come. But the way he came running out when I called him??? So fucking cute I almost cried. So instead of saying anything I just kissed him on the cheek.

And his reaction absolutely DESTROYED me. Dude turned BRIGHT red and started repeating the same thing over and over: "what? what?? WHAT?????" Just that. Over and over. He was so shocked LMAO. So I was like "what do you mean what, I'm asking you to date me" and he looked like he was about to cry, pulled me into a hug, and just held me while going "this is insane... this is actually insane..." on repeat. I'm dying.

We're dating now btw.
