My blind date ordered $30 worth of desserts after I said I'd pay for coffee

Okay I need objective opinions on this because my friends are split and I can't stop replaying it in my head.

So I (going by Jinwoo here) got set up on a blind date last weekend with this guy Sanghoon through a mutual friend. First impression was fine, nothing crazy but not bad. We went to an Italian place near the meeting spot and dinner came out to around 50,000 won (~$37). He offered to pay and I let him, but I'm not the type to just get stuff bought for me all night so I said I'd cover coffee after. Cool, normal, whatever.

We walked over to this pretty famous dessert cafe nearby. This is where it starts.

I ordered my usual iced americano. Then Sanghoon's whole energy SHIFTS. Like his eyes literally changed. He starts scanning the menu going "hmm I didn't eat much at dinner I'm still hungry" and picks the most expensive signature cream latte. Fine. Whatever. I get it.

BUT HE DOESN'T STOP.

He starts pointing at the display case. "Ooh that looks good. That one too. Oh wow this one." And ends up ordering a 9,000 won strawberry tart, an 8,000 won chocolate cake, AND some limited edition tiramisu. THREE desserts. For himself. Plus the fancy latte.

Two drinks and three desserts came out to almost 40,000 won (~$30). At a CAFE. I was stunned but I'd already said I'd pay so I just. paid.

And then it gets worse.

We sit down and he proceeds to eat basically all three desserts himself while complaining that the pasta earlier was "kinda small portions, not great value for the price." TRASHING the restaurant HE picked and paid for. In front of me. While inhaling the tarts I just bought him.

Then the killshot. He goes, and I quote, "Jinwoo-ssi you seem like you only know how to go to cafes, you don't really know the good dessert spots huh? Don't worry, I'll take you to lots of good restaurants from now on, so when I buy the meal, you get the coffee and dessert okay?"

So let me get this straight. HE buys cheap dinner. I buy full-course premium dessert tasting menu. Every time. Forever. He literally set up the rule on date ONE.

I could SEE the calculator running behind his eyes. I was so done. I made up an excuse about something urgent and left early.

On my way home he texted me "had a great time, next time let's go to this BBQ place I know" and I just read it and blocked him.

Told my friends and some of them were like "still kinda rude to the guy who bought you dinner" and others were like "ordering 40k in desserts is WILD behavior." So which is it. Was I being petty and calculating?? Or was this guy actually insane??
