The poster wanted hotteok (Korean sweet pancakes) but had no yeast, so they just made the dough anyway. The outside came out hard and crispy, the sugar filling exploded inside. So they had no choice but to roll it out flat and cut it thin...
...and somehow ended up with what looks exactly like samgyeopsal (grilled pork belly slices).
The cherry on top: 'My mom thought it was actual meat and grabbed a piece.'
The pan full of 'hotteok' in the photo genuinely looks like a full BBQ spread. Mom had no idea she was eating sugar dough.
