Guy meets a girl after military service, almost gets eaten alive in Africa

A guy gets out of the military and, with nothing better to do, decides to travel with a girl he meets. She suggests they go to Africa together.

He makes a travel companion book titled 'XX University Overseas Volunteer Activity Recruitment' to pitch the trip to his parents. Her parents, however, are apparently fine with her going — she just tells them straight up she's traveling with a guy. Meanwhile his parents grill him: 'Why is there only one girl in this recruitment flyer?' He panics, scrambles to photoshop more faces in, and somehow pulls it off. He even gets a small monthly allowance from his dad afterward.

They spend 6 months in Africa together. Things get intense — her parents start asking 'isn't that your boyfriend?' and his mom calls asking 'are you dating that Africa volunteer girl?' Both families are basically figuring it out in real time. He wraps up the post saying he almost got eaten by a hyena, survived, and is now eating ramen with her. He's thinking about traveling again.
