She asked what he wanted to do. His answer broke her brain.

A girl is having lunch with her boyfriend. They need to wrap up early because he has to head home in the evening, so they're trying to figure out what to do with the little time they have left in the afternoon.

They go back and forth but can't reach a decision, so she finally snaps (half-jokingly): "Ugh, what do you WANT to do?!"

Her boyfriend slowly rubs his face like he's bracing himself, laughs softly, and says: "...I wish we just lived together."
