Manager tears up over clueless new hire β but not for the reason you think

The new employee has been around for several months but keeps mixing up work terminology. So just now the manager said to the newbie, 'Mr./Ms. OO... I literally tear up every time OO does this...' and furrowed their brow β and the newbie apparently thought they were ACTUALLY about to cry, grabbed a fistful of tissues, dabbed their eyes dramatically, and scurried away going 'there there..' π
The manager was doing that whole 'shaking-my-head-you-drive-me-crazy' exasperated scold voice going 'EVERY TIME THIS HAPPENS!! EVERY SINGLE TIME!!' and this person just... fully missed the vibe and went full comfort mode. Poster is now biting their fist trying not to burst out laughing π
