my grandma waited 20 mins in the cold for me and my bf just... sat with her

so in high school my grandma would pick me up after night classes pretty much every day. the school parking lot was absolutely packed with parent cars so it was sketchy as hell, but even though i kept telling her i was fine she'd always show up anyway.

one day i totally forgot i'd signed up for this extra tutoring session and didn't tell her. after the tutoring ended i studied for like 20 minutes then suddenly panicked thinking about grandma. ran to ask my teacher if i could leave and went outside.

and there she was on a bench. with my boyfriend. just... talking. and get this. my boyfriend had already told her i was in the extra class and offered to drive me home, but grandma said NO she wanted to go WITH me. so they both just WAITED. on a bench. together. for me to come out.

i'm still dating him btw and every time i think about that image of them sitting there together i literally get butterflies. like the way he just... sat there with my grandma??? bestie i'm emotional about this even typing it out
