creepy photo at Dumulmeori had an extra person in it. still on my phone.

I wasn't going to post this but here we are.

Summer 2023. Me and two friends did a little day trip outside Seoul to Dumulmeori in Yangpyeong. If you've never been, it's this really pretty spot where two rivers meet, lotus gardens everywhere, golden hour hits INSANE there. We set up a tripod right before sunset and took a group shot. Three of us. Just us.

We checked the photo and we all stopped talking at the exact same time.

Right side of the frame. Someone standing there. Black clothes, blurry face, arms just... hanging. And they weren't looking at us. They were looking directly into the lens.

We told ourselves it was a tourist who walked into frame for half a second. Except. There was nobody else around. And none of the other photos had anything.

When we got back to Seoul I kept looking at it. And that's when it got weird. The figure was getting clearer. Like. Day one it was blurry. Day two I could see the wrinkles in the fabric. The line of a mouth. A smile.

Then my friend starts texting me. The one who was in the photo. She's having the same dream every night.

"I'm in the lotus field and that person is standing behind us. And they keep getting closer."

I went down a rabbit hole looking up Dumulmeori ghost stories and found this one thread that said: "if there's an extra person in your group photo there, do NOT delete it. they follow you."

I tried to delete it anyway.

It came back. Restored itself. I turned off backup. Did a factory reset.

It came back.

And last night I woke up and picked up my phone and the photo was just. Filling the whole screen. Just that face.

The photo is still on my phone.
