so my dad ran this really successful tutoring academy for years. we never lacked anything growing up, like genuinely comfortable life. then one day this woman (a parent of one of his students) starts going absolutely feral because her kid's grades weren't going up. throwing things. screaming. full-on unhinged tantrum mode.
and my dad. he just. took it so hard. like it broke something in him.
he quit. walked away from being director of the academy he built. and then spent 4 years unemployed.
four years.
and the whole time, relatives. family members. right in front of me. openly talking down to him. not even trying to hide it.
we've got debt in the hundreds of millions of won right now (think multiple hundreds of thousands USD at minimum). it got so bad i genuinely wanted to die.
but recently dad started working again and it's actually going okay. i'm trying so hard to make something of this life, really trying.
it's 강 (river, 3am, something like that... my brain's going) and i can't sleep so i'm just... typing. just rambling into the void.
