Ghost on Anmin Pass keeps chasing the car

So this is a horror story my mom told me about something that happened to her years ago, and I'm still genuinely unsettled by it.

Back in the day, there was this mountain pass called Anmin Pass in Changwon, Korea that connected to Jinhae. Super sketchy at night. Nowadays it's paved and busy, but back then? Nightmare fuel.

My mom and three of her friends were driving back from Jinhae late one night. It was raining that dark, drizzly rain that makes everything look cursed. The driver had been drinking a bit too much, so this retired marine guy (seriously tough dude) took over.

As they're driving through the pass, they see this TALL guy in white clothes hitchhiking on the side of the road. Driver starts to pull over to help, but the marine dude in the passenger seat FREAKS OUT. Like full panic. "GO GO GO. Drive now or we're all dead."

Something clicks. Driver floors it.

When my mom asked why, the marine guy just goes: "That guy had no legs. Like... no legs at all. And he wasn't wet from the rain even though it's pouring."

They're all terrified but driving fast now. Then suddenly the car speeds up EVEN MORE. My mom looks at the driver's face and it's pure terror. Jaw clenched. Eyes locked on the road.

She looks back.

It's chasing them. Running alongside the car. At the EXACT SAME SPEED as the vehicle. Not falling behind. Not catching up. Just... matching their speed perfectly.

Everyone starts screaming. The older lady in the back actually faints from fear.

Then my mom looks again and it's gone.

Relief for like two seconds.

Then it crawls UP from under the car, climbs onto the front bumper, and just... stares at them through the windshield.

The driver loses it. Pure survival instinct. He's driving like a madman. Eventually they see the lights of Changwon city, a police checkpoint ahead with its lights on, and then... it just vanishes toward the mountains.

They didn't sleep that night. Stayed outside the whole time.

The elderly lady who fainted was bedridden for a WEEK recovering. My mom couldn't turn off the lights when sleeping for an entire month.

Even though the road is fine now and packed with cars, she still can't drive through there. The memory is that bad.

Apparently back in the 1970s, a bus went over a cliff on that pass. Survivors said a ghost forced the bus off the road.

Second story: Different employee, same pass, different version.

This guy picked up a woman in a white jeogori (traditional white dress) one rainy summer night. She was soaking wet, looking pale AF, just standing in the middle of the road asking for a ride.

He's scared but tries to play it cool. She gets in the back seat and just... says nothing. Stares at nothing. He's watching her in the mirror, stomach in knots the whole drive.

Suddenly she goes: "Um... here... let me... get out here..." in this weird whisper voice.

He's like "But we're still on the mountain pass? Where are you going?"

She just opens the door and walks into the darkness toward the back.

He was too scared to follow. Just drove down the mountain like his life depended on it.

Next day at work he's telling this story like it's funny, and someone goes: "Dude. There's an old cemetery right where you said she got out."

He never took that pass again. Not once.

Now there's a tunnel under it, so people just zoom through. But he remembers. He'll never forget.

Enjoyed this? Tap the heart.
