So toward the end of 7th grade I was getting bullied. And like. that alone would've been enough, right? But then my dad got a concussion on top of it, and my mom was struggling so hard that I couldn't even bring myself to say anything to her. I just stayed by her side and held it in.
The only people I could talk to were the close friends who'd stuck around. I wasn't even asking for much. just wanted to vent a little, wanted them to hear me out. so I finally opened up because I was genuinely struggling.
And they were just. not listening. like visibly didn't want to hear it. you could TELL. the half-assed responses, the way their attention was just. elsewhere.
that made me sad.
