guy blocked the fire lane then tried to lecture ME about manners. cops took him away 🫶

Buckle up. Just got home and my hands are STILL shaking so tell me honestly, am I the crazy one or was this guy actually unhinged.

So the street in front of my place is a fire lane. Like there's a GIANT sign. Massive. You cannot miss it. It's a no-parking zone because fire trucks need to get through. Cool.

I come home from work today and some black sedan is parked dead center blocking the entire alley. The alley is already narrow so literally no car can pass. I called the number on the dash super politely like "hey your car is in a no-parking zone and blocking the road, could you move it please."

The voice on the other end. I can't.

"ugh just WAIT I'll be out in a sec why are you freaking out??" in full banmal¹ btw. Just casually dropping the respect language on a stranger.

So I wait like 10 minutes. Ajusshi² comes strolling out. I'm thinking okay maybe he'll apologize. NOPE. He takes one look at my face and starts SCREAMING.

"yah how old are you?? some young punk calling an elder telling him what to do?? I said I'd just be a minute what's it to you??"

I was so done. I told him again, sir this is a fire lane, no parking zone. And this man. THIS MAN. starts tapping my chest going "you have no manners, is this how your parents raised you" etc etc. Full on personal attacks. Neighbors came out to watch and he just kept going. zero shame.

So I was like okay. Words aren't working. Pulled out my phone. Filmed him yelling, filmed the car, and reported it right there on the Safety Report app³. Then called the cops for harassment and obstruction.

He clearly did NOT think I'd actually do it. At first it was all "go ahead, sue me" energy. Then the sirens start and suddenly he's a whole different person???

"aigoo hyungshi⁴ I went a little too far, sorry sorry, honestly I've just been having a rough day" literally pulling the sick-victim card out of nowhere.

Too late bestie. Cops showed up, watched the video, and he got hit with the parking fine AND taken in for the threats. He glared at me the whole way to the car so I smiled really big and waved bye bye 👋

Sitting at home now thinking about this man who was SO concerned about manners and "respecting your elders" and wondering where HIS manners went. Going by the book felt SO good. Why did I ever put up with stuff like this before.
