He photographed an abandoned hospital. Something was already burning.

Okay I wasn't going to repost this but it's been living in my head.

So this guy Sakuraba is one of those abandoned-building explorers. Urbex type. His whole thing was photographing haikyo¹ for his personal site, and he'd been scoping out this abandoned hospital for a while waiting for the perfect golden hour shot.

And he got it. The whole building glowing orange in the sunset. He said it looked like another world entirely, so beautiful he literally forgot to press the shutter. Just stood there with his eye on the lens watching.

Then he felt it.

His arm. Heat. Not the warm lazy heat of the sun on your skin. This was WRONG heat. The kind where you feel your skin wrinkling and sticking to itself. Burning.

[OW!]

He yanked his arm away and stumbled back a few meters. When he turned around to look at the spot where he'd been standing...

The ground was black. Scorched completely black.

And standing in the middle of it.

A figure. Burned head to toe, skin charred and fused like charcoal, whole body destroyed.

Looking right at him. Just. Staring.

He ran. Didn't stop until he was home.

The burn marks on his arm are still there.
