I wasn't going to post this but.
"Suyu Station, Exit 3, Gangbuk-gu, Seoul. There's a story that if you take the last elevator after the final train stops running... you can't come back."
Winter 2022. I was working as a night instructor at a hagwon in Suyu-dong, and after every class I'd sprint to catch the last subway home. That night was no different.
Around 11:50pm, I went to take the elevator at Exit 3 heading toward Gangbuk District Office. Doors opened. Nobody inside. I got in alone.
Then right before the doors closed, a woman rushed in. Long hair. Gray long coat. Something about her felt... off, but I couldn't place it.
"Almost missed it," I said.
She didn't answer. Head completely down. Something clutched tight in her hand.
The vibe was WRONG. The air was wrong. I knew it and stayed quiet.
The elevator started going down. And then it stopped.
Not at 1F.
At B2.
Neither of us had pressed that floor. I KNOW we hadn't.
Doors opened.
And it wasn't the subway concourse. Wasn't a parking garage. It was a narrow corridor, long and dark, stretching out in front of us. Fluorescent lights flickering. Concrete walls. Cold damp air hitting my skin.
The woman slowly raised her head and looked at me.
Her face.
Her face was not a human face.
No eyes. Not like they were closed. Like the space where eyes should be had been filled in with something dark and bruised, black pooling in the sockets. And her mouth. split open like a torn doll, all the way to her ears.
She whispered.
"We're the only ones here..."
I screamed and just started slamming the close button. over and over and OVER. The doors closed. The elevator moved.
But it didn't go up.
It went DOWN.
B3. B4. Floors that don't exist. Floors that are either under construction or just. sealed off. not on any map.
The light inside started dying. And then her voice again, right next to my ear.
"You have to come down too... you can't just... be the only one who lives..."
The lights cut out completely. I just swung my bag at whatever was there. Felt it hit something.
And then.
Blinding light.
The doors were open. First floor. I ran. I did not stop running.
I found a station employee and told them everything. They didn't believe me. They pulled up the CCTV.
Only I was in the elevator.
No woman. No gray coat. Just me, alone, pressing buttons frantically in an empty elevator.
A few days later I was scrolling and found a post.
"The elevator at Suyu Station Exit 3... don't ride it alone at night. There was a woman who went missing there a long time ago. People say she's still inside, waiting for someone."
