Horror story: Sindang Station Exit 5, the black-haired woman at the bottom of the stairs

I wasn't going to post this but.

Sindang Station, Exit 5, Seoul. There's been a recurring thing where people report seeing a woman at the bottom of the stairs in the early hours. Long black hair. Head tilted up. Looking at you.

Early 2024, I was working late constantly and Sindang was basically my station. Around 1am, almost nobody around. I'm heading down Exit 5 and I just. stop breathing for a second.

At the bottom of the stairs there's a woman. Long black hair hanging down. And she's looking UP at me.

But the position was wrong. Her body was facing the stairs but her head was rotated backward. Like 180 degrees. Her face was mostly dark but her eyes. her eyes met mine. I'm telling you. They MET MINE.

I stepped back. Looked again. Nobody there.

A few days later, same time, same stairs. This time I catch her in the mirror on the stairwell wall. She's standing behind me, up on the stairs. Clear as anything.

I turn around. Nothing.

After that I went digging online for Sindang Station ghost stories and found this old post: "Has anyone seen the thing about a woman jumping at Exit 5? People keep saying there's a black-haired figure there in the early morning."

No official record of any incident. But the same story kept showing up in citizen reports and random forum posts. Over and over.

I stopped using that exit after that. Started taking taxis home from work when I could.

Then just recently someone posted this on social media:

"Does anyone use Sindang Station Exit 5 in the early morning? There's what looks like a person at the bottom of the stairs but when you get close they disappear. Except they keep showing up in the mirror."
