horror story: the shadow behind me in a selfie. 0.5 seconds.

I wasn't going to post this but.

It was just a regular night. I was lying in bed, took a selfie on my phone for no real reason. I was feeling kind of low that day, wanted to like. document it or something. idk.

I didn't look at the photo right away. Just saved it, opened another app, scrolled around. Then I went back to my gallery by accident and pulled up the photo I'd just taken.

At first I didn't see it.

But then I zoomed in.

Right behind me. Directly over my shoulder. Something was standing there.

A blurry shape. It looked like a human face. Half smiling. Half... wrong. Like a face that couldn't decide what it was doing.

I was alone in that room. Door was locked. Windows were closed. There is NO explanation.

The next morning I went to delete it and looked one more time.

The shadow was gone.

Just a normal selfie of me alone. That's it. That's all that was left.

I haven't taken a selfie since.

But sometimes my friends send group photos and I'll be looking through them and. there's something in the corner. always behind someone's shoulder. sometimes reflected in a window. sometimes at the edge of the frame. just standing there. a shape that doesn't belong.

And when I point it out, every single friend says the same thing.

"wait... I don't remember that being there."

One week ago, the last friend who looked closely at one of those photos went quiet. Stopped responding. No texts. nothing.

Her last message to me:

"it's behind me right now too."

and then nothing.
