I was spying on my neighborhood at 2am and saw something that made me never do it again

So I had this weird hobby. Every night around 2am I'd climb up to my apartment roof with binoculars and just... observe. Watch the streets when they're dead quiet. There's something oddly satisfying about it, you know? The water tanks in the distance, taxis hauling drunk people up the hill, vending machines glowing in that weird way.

Our place has this long slope on the west side that leads straight down to our building. So from the roof I could see the entire hill head-on. I was looking at a vending machine on the side of it through my binoculars, thinking about some big moth flying around, when I saw something sprinting down from the top of the slope.

I adjusted the binoculars and... okay, I'm not exaggerating when I say my blood went cold. There was this emaciated kid-like *thing* running toward me. Completely naked. Full smile on its face. Waving its hands. And it was CLEARLY looking directly at me. Making eye contact.

I just froze for a second, but something about it screamed danger, so I bolted down the stairs and locked myself inside. Door locked, key turned.

Then I heard footsteps on the roof stairs. It was following me. I'm standing in the middle of my living room shaking, grabbing a *goddamn iron* as a weapon because nothing else was nearby. A few seconds later, footsteps coming DOWN the stairs. Then the door starts getting pounded on. BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM. The doorbell starts screaming. And I hear these sounds coming from... it. Like groaning. [우욱! 우욱!]

My heart literally stopped then went into overdrive. I'm standing there holding an iron, shaking so hard I can barely breathe. The knocking and doorbell go on for like 30 seconds, then just... stop. Silence.

I couldn't move though. I stood there with that iron in my hands until the sun came up.

I have NO idea what that thing was. But I can tell you for certain: I will never touch those binoculars again at night.

Enjoyed this? Tap the heart.
