I wasn't going to post this but... the Berlin U8 ghost girl story

· 0 0 0

Okay so this is a friend-of-a-friend thing but it genuinely freaked me out when I heard it.

So Minjun was studying abroad in Berlin. One night he stayed late at school working on some academic festival thing and barely caught the last train. U8 line, connects north and south Berlin, pretty important route but at that hour? Basically empty. You could count the passengers on one hand.

He sits down, puts his earbuds in, closes his eyes. Normal tired-student behavior.

Then he feels someone sit next to him.

He doesn't think much of it at first. But then he hears... singing. Faint. Through his earbuds. He pulls them out and there's a little girl sitting next to him. Thin dress. In a freezing train car. Holding a beat-up old doll. Humming some song he's never heard.

And her voice was pretty. Like genuinely pretty. But SAD. Like unbearably sad.

He looks around for her mom. Nobody. Empty car. Just him and this kid.

He tries to talk to her. She doesn't respond. Just stares out the window and keeps singing.

A few stops later the train pulls into Hermannstraße station. Doors open. The girl stands up and walks out. Minjun tries to follow her because like. obviously. a child alone at 1am. but his legs literally wouldn't move. He just sat there and watched her disappear onto the platform.

Doors close. Train starts moving.

He exhales. Finally. And then he looks at the seat next to him.

The doll is still there.

Eyes sewn shut with buttons. Face twisted like it's resentful of something. He didn't touch it. He couldn't.

So here's where it gets worse.

After that night, EVERY time he took the U8 late, she was there. Same seat. Same train. Same song. Always got off at Hermannstraße. He stopped trying to talk to her. Stopped trying to follow. Just held his breath until she was gone.

Eventually curiosity got him and he looked up Berlin subway ghost stories. And found it.

Early 1980s. A little girl got hit by a train at Hermannstraße station. Her name was Lina. She always carried an old doll. The accident happened in the early morning hours, near the end of service. No witnesses. Case never solved.

He KNEW. It was her.

And then a week later he took the U8 again (why bestie. WHY.) and she was in her usual seat. But this time she wasn't singing.

She turned her head. Looked right at him.

Dark red tears were leaking out of the button eyes.

She opened her mouth and whispered, in this cold voice:

*"The doll... why did you take it?"*

He BOLTED. Got off at the next stop. Never rode the U8 again.

But he says even now, late at night, he can still hear that cold little song next to him. And he can feel her staring. Like she still wants her doll back.

Enjoyed this? Tap the heart.
