I wasn't going to post this but... there was a BODY in the outhouse

okay so this is something my friend actually experienced and I need to tell you about it. back in school she told me this story.

so when my friend was like 9 years old her family went on vacation. not the beach, more like... a river area? you know. anyway the adults were busy setting up camp and cooking so my friend and her older sister went to play by the water.

they played for a while and then my friend suddenly needed to use the bathroom. she looks around and sees this outhouse like 100 meters away from where they were. so she bolts for it. and I'm talking a NASTY pit toilet. two wooden planks slapped together, you could smell the maggots from outside. this was the 80s in rural Korea so there's no way you're finding a flush toilet out there.

so she goes in and... okay imagine sitting there TERRIFIED that maggots are gonna crawl up at any second. she's watching the space between the two planks the whole time, just trying to get through it.

then she looks down.

and she SCREAMS. doesn't even pull her pants up, just screaming and running out of there like her life depends on it.

everyone comes running. her sister, her mom, her dad, random people from the vacation spot. everyone.

and my friend is just standing there with her clothes not even fixed, making these sounds:

"something under the toilet... it was LOOKING AT ME...."

"under the toilet... AHHHHHHHHHHH~~~"

people thought she was just a freaked out kid afraid of the outhouse. so they check it out.

and. oh my god.

there was a DECOMPOSING CHILD down there. with its EYES OPEN.

so later they found out what happened. this kid had been playing alone by the water, fell into the toilet, and nobody heard them screaming because it wasn't vacation season yet. the kid died down there. sat in that pit for almost 5 MONTHS before my friend literally made eye contact with a corpse while trying to use the bathroom.

imagine. you're sitting there. minding your business. you look down casually and your eyes LOCK with a dead child.

so PSA: if you're using a pit toilet, DO NOT LOOK DOWN. there might be something looking back at you.
