Korean urban explorer YouTuber went into Kyiv's underground tunnels. his last video surfaced months later.

I wasn't going to post this but it's been eating at me for weeks.
So there's this Korean YouTuber, Seongjin, who ran a channel called 'Seoul Avex.' His whole thing was 'exploring places you're not supposed to go.' Abandoned psych wards. Shut-down amusement parks. Forgotten coal mines. That kind of stuff. His subs LOVED him for the calm voice and steady camera work.
For his next big video? He picked the underground drainage tunnels of Kyiv, Ukraine.
And look. Kyiv has the deepest metro system in the world. Underneath that city is literally centuries of tunnels tangled into one giant labyrinth. So Seongjin hired a local 'Digger' (that's what they call the veteran underground guides over there) named Dmitri. Grey-eyed, barely talks. Before they went in, Dmitri gave him exactly two rules.
One. Never leave my side.
Two. Don't touch the old drawings on the walls.
They dropped into the Nikolska drainage system through an old manhole. Wet dirt, sewage, and some weird metallic smell he couldn't place. Pitch black outside the headlamp beam. Water dripping everywhere, echoing like the world's creepiest wind chime. Seongjin was EATING THIS UP. Filming everything. This was exactly the content his viewers wanted.
About an hour in, walking through the main brick-lined tunnel, they found a side passage that wasn't on any map. Dmitri hesitated. But Seongjin pushed, like "just a quick peek bro," and Dmitri caved.
The side tunnel was DIFFERENT. No bricks. Huge walls carved straight out of sandstone, way older than the rest of the system. And on those walls... faded ancient murals.
Nothing from any human civilization he'd ever seen. Stick-figure people with way too many joints. Arms and legs bent at impossible angles. Dozens of them, all bowing toward a chaotic spiral symbol in the center of the wall. Looked like the record of some unhinged ancient cult ritual.
"We're going back. Now." Dmitri's voice went low.
But Seongjin had just found the opening chapter of the scariest video of his life. He talked Dmitri into going just a little further.
The tunnel got deeper. Narrower. And then at some point? Every sound just. stopped. The faint city noise from above, gone. The water trickling down the walls, gone. Even their own footsteps, like the mud was swallowing them whole. Heavy, wrong silence.
That's when both their headlamps started flickering at the same time. Dmitri's radio, their only link to the surface, went to static.
And in that silence. A new sound.
Something wet being dragged across the floor, up ahead in the dark. And faintly. *tak. tak.* Like bones clicking together.
Dmitri grabbed his arm and killed the lamp. In total darkness the sound got SO much clearer. Whatever it was, it didn't know they were there. Just wandering around slowly. After a few minutes the sound moved off, and Dmitri turned the lamp back on.
The mud right at their feet. Fresh claw marks. Three of them. Deep.
Dmitri was FULLY terrified at this point. But Seongjin? His brain was lighting up with "holy shit this is the scoop of a lifetime." Greed won. He pushed them forward, toward where the thing had gone.
The tunnel ended in a huge circular chamber. Dead center there was a vertical shaft going straight down into nothing. Black pit, no bottom visible. The walls had the same murals but way clearer now. Every single stick-figure was bowing toward the shaft. Worshipping it.
And the shaft was sealed with a massive rusted iron grate.
But the grate was bent OUTWARD. From inside to outside. From below, pushing up. Like something unimaginably strong had tried to force its way out from the deep.
"We have to leave. This... this isn't a place we should be." Dmitri was white as paper.
They turned to go.
And from the tunnel behind them, the way they'd come in, the sound started again. Dragging. Bones clicking. Closer this time. Faster. Their exit was cut off.
Both headlamps started strobing like crazy. And between the flickers, Seongjin's camera caught IT, standing at the far end of the tunnel.
Long. Skeletal. Like the murals had just spat it out. Joints bent at angles that shouldn't exist. It was not human.
*KIIIIIIIIIIK!*
It screamed and it sounded like metal scraping metal. Then it dropped onto all fours, spider-posture, and came at them at a speed that doesn't make sense for something that shape.
"THIS WAY! RUN!"
Dmitri shoved Seongjin into a different side passage, pulled a flare from his pocket, lit it, and turned to face the thing. Seongjin ran. He heard Dmitri's scream behind him. He heard something solid being crushed. He kept running. Camera still in his hand. Still recording.
Months later.
A video titled 'Seoul Avex - Final Video' showed up on some dark corner forum. The file had been recovered from a badly damaged SD card found in a Kyiv pawn shop.
Most of it is unwatchable. Just Seongjin's ragged breathing, him sobbing, and the camera bouncing through endless dark tunnel.
At the very end he trips on something. The camera flies out of his hand, rolls across the floor, and lands at an angle pointing back AT him.
He's on the ground trying to get up. A long thin shadow falls over him. And then filling the whole frame, a long arm with three joints, not a human arm, reaches slowly toward the lens.
*tak.*
Something curious taps the lens. Once. Gentle.
Screen goes black.
Under the video, there's exactly one comment. In Ukrainian.
"Some doors should never have been opened. This city must not forget why the tunnels were built."
