okay I wasn't going to post this but I literally cannot sleep so here we go. this happened last night and I'm still shaken so forgive me if this is a mess.
so I'm a little sensitive. like, not in a cringe way, just. I dream a lot, I pick up on vibes, sometimes when a place has bad energy my body actually hurts. that kind of thing.
I was doing my usual part-time café shift yesterday and my LEFT ARM was just. aching. for no reason. I hadn't hurt it. And then I started smelling blood from my own hand?? I hadn't cut myself. Nothing. just this faint metallic blood smell coming from my hand.
so I was like, huh. weird day. and drank the iced americano my aunt made me.
but then my heart started racing and I felt this anxious dread and I just chalked it up to too much caffeine. moved on.
shift ends around 10pm. I'm walking home, on the phone with my husband asking when he's getting back from his work dinner thing. normal stuff. I get to this intersection near my place.
it's a two-lane crosswalk situation and the light timing is TERRIBLE. like notoriously bad. cars run red lights there constantly, there are accidents, the whole thing. at night especially people just. fly through it.
the light turns green RIGHT as I arrive. like immediately. I was like oh!! lucky!!
hung up the phone, looked both ways, and started to step off the curb with my left foot.
and then.
my arm. the one that had been hurting all day. suddenly THROBBED. and my foot just. wouldn't move. like it was glued to the ground. the whole thing lasted less than a second.
that's when a motorcycle came out of nowhere and blew through the intersection RIGHT in front of me. the tire passed maybe 2-3 centimeters from my foot. I could feel the air from it.
the rider saw me. checked his mirror. and just. kept going. didn't stop. (rude btw. incredibly rude.)
the thing is, he was coming from the right-turn lane, so I literally had no angle to see him coming. if I had taken that step normally, there's no version of that where I walk away okay.
I made it across the rest of the crosswalk and just. exhaled.
and then I heard ringing in my ears. loud. and underneath it...
a woman laughing. like hihihihihihi.
I told myself I heard wrong. but I was already covered in cold sweat and my skin was full-on crawling.
I don't know what stopped my foot. I don't know whose laugh that was. I've had feelings before about other people being in danger but this is the first time it's ever been about ME.
all I could do was say thank you. out loud. to whoever.
anywayyyy nothing bad happened and I'm home safe so that's the important part. but please. if something feels off today. just. be a little more careful okay.
that's all I've got. thanks for reading, sorry if it was boring, GOODNIGHT and stay safe out there 🙏
