the night a 'black monk robe' was walking around outside Prague

okay I wasn't going to post this but.

There's a small village called Bohunovice, about an hour north of Prague. An old monastery there, built centuries ago. The last monk disappeared in 1973 and the place just... closed. Nobody went in for 50 years.

Then in October 2022, an archaeology team from a Czech national university goes in to survey the interior. One of the researchers wanders off alone toward the corridor outside the second-floor chapel.

He never comes back out.

The team pulls out immediately. Two days later, his phone turns up right in front of the monastery gate. Just sitting there.

The footage on it was 12 seconds long. Shaky cam, dark hallway. Normal enough. But the last frame.

There's someone in a black monk's habit standing just beyond a half-open door.

No head visible. The inside of the robe is just... a dark hole. Empty. Like something carved out of shadow.

They seal the monastery back up but things keep happening. Locals start saying they hear bells at night. Which would be whatever except.

There are no bells in that monastery. There never were.

Mid-winter, a local radio station gets hit with some kind of interference. A Latin prayer starts looping on air, and then at the end, a woman's voice says one sentence in Czech.

"He will not be coming back."

A few weeks after that, a paranormal investigation crew (unofficial, obviously) breaks in and starts a livestream. One of them goes quiet mid-sentence and then says:

"There's something in the corridor. It just passed by me. It looks like a person but the shadow... it doesn't have a shadow."

Feed cuts. Just gone.

Days later they find a body in the snow near the monastery. Green paramedic vest. Not the missing researcher.

He was ID'd as a monastery worker who went missing in PRAGUE IN 1991. Thirty-plus years ago.

And he didn't die from the cold. His fingernails and palms were completely torn up, deep gouges all over. Like he spent his last moments clawing at a wall. Or a door. Trying to get out.

The villagers still call it "the place where the black robe walks."

And apparently. It's never alone.

Enjoyed this? Tap the heart.
