trained with a monk and found out why he walks like that

So I trained alongside a monk once. The shock never left me.

If any 53rd division guys see this, you might already know what I'm about to say.

From the very first day at training camp I was like. What am I looking at.

Apparently monks report with their luggage already wrapped in cloth. Both feet, soles completely callused and cracked open, so the platoon commander personally took him to the infirmary first thing.

This random rookie private (me, knowing absolutely nothing) watched this monk unpack all his stuff. And I'm telling you. every single item was handwoven. like he sat there and WOVE each thing into fabric and then wrapped it back up again.

So from literally day one, both his feet are bleeding. Can barely walk straight. But does he complain? NOT ONCE.

And I was right next to him the whole time, this round little guy just quietly existing beside me.
