I licked the dental impression material at the dentist and now I want to die

went to the dentist today and I literally want to cease existing. I'm so embarrassed I could combust.

So I had two cavities. One was whatever, the other was REALLY rotted. Got numbed up, they drilled it out, and then they brought over this impression tray thing to make a mold. Pressed it against my teeth.

Now here's where I fucked up. The numbing was so good I couldn't feel ANYTHING. Like, I could tell something was touching my tooth but it was just... nothing. So obviously I was bored as shit.

And I was like. Let me just poke this with my tongue. Once. So I pressed my tongue against the impression material. It was soft? Kind of? Not as mushy as I expected. Still nothing feeling-wise because of the numbing. So naturally I did what any completely normal person would do and started LICKING it. Like just. Lick lick lick. Prod prod with my tongue. Playing with it like it was the most interesting thing in the world.

Then the doctor goes "we'll remove this now" and his FACE. His SOUL had left his body. I was confused. Why? Did I break something?? So I asked why he looked so horrified and

His entire face turned BRIGHT RED.

"Why... why did you... use your FINGERS...."

And there's just this DEAD silence. Then one of the nurses starts giggling. Just a little pfft. And then the OTHER nurse LOSES IT. Absolutely dying. Can't breathe laughing.

I'm sitting there realizing what I just did. I LICKED the impression material with my TONGUE. Except the doctor thought I FINGERED it????

And I still have to go back. I have to go back and face that man. I'm going to actually fucking die. I watched him wash his hands while I sat there wanting to jump out the window. Couldn't even look at him when I left. I'm in hell.
