My classmate taught me how to draw stars and I've been in love ever since

So every summer I think about this and it's been like 20+ years. In elementary school I literally couldn't draw stars right. I'd do a triangle then flip it upside down over the first one and it just looked like garbage. Anyway don't worry about that part.

My desk partner was the type of kid who was just. Cynical as hell? Tallest in the class, pale skin, always sleeping during breaks instead of playing with the boys. Just had that cold vibe, you know.

So we had this poster drawing competition one summer and I'm trying to draw a star the way I always did and it's coming out TERRIBLE. I'm erasing and redrawing over and over and over. And my classmate is just lying there with his head down and he sees me struggling and goes "you don't know how to draw stars?"

I got embarrassed obviously so I just mumbled something back. And then he sits up, pulls out his paper, and SLOWLY draws a star while explaining the whole process to me. Teaching me the actual technique. Step by step.

Like I'd been drawing stars wrong my entire life so obviously I'm fumbling through it. But he doesn't get mad. He just keeps drawing on his own paper over and over like... showing me, telling me to keep practicing, won't stop until I get it. His whole paper ends up COVERED in stars.

Then the teacher comes by, looks at his paper and's like "why are you just drawing stars, make an actual picture" and scolds him. And he just goes "oh I just really like stars" in the most emotionless way possible.

... I was a kid but I swear my heart literally skipped. After that I just. Became obsessed with him on my own. And honestly whenever I draw a star now I think about him. That guy.
